Santa Rosa Tool Library SMS Messaging Policy
Purpose:
We may communicate with you via SMS messages to provide updates, reminders, notices, or information related to your borrowing activities. Our borrowers will only receive SMS messages if they have contacted us directly or have explicitly agreed to receive due date reminders, notices, and overdue notices. We do not send unsolicited SMS messages or promotional content.
Your Consent:
You agree to receive SMS messages from us only if you have contacted us first via SMS or have explicitly consented to receive reminders, notices, or updates related to your borrowing activities.
Responding to Your Messages:
If you send us a message, we may reply to your inquiry or response. We will not send any messages unless you have contacted us first or have given explicit consent.
Help and Support:
You may reply with "HELP" to any of our SMS messages for more information.
Opt-Out:
If you wish to stop receiving SMS responses or reminders, you can reply with "STOP" at any time, and we will cease sending you SMS messages.
Message and Data Rates:
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Data Security, Privacy, and Retention
SRTL treats all phone numbers and message content as confidential. SMS data will be used exclusively to respond to borrower inquiries or provide agreed-upon reminders and notices.
SMS message records will be retained only as long as necessary to manage borrowing activities and maintain accurate records of communication. Resolved messages may be securely archived for up to one year for purposes of reference, audit, or compliance, after which they will be permanently deleted or anonymized. Personal information will not be disclosed to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
